European Download 24/08/17 – PokĆ©mon Discounts, PokkĆ©n Demo and More

The eShop is gearing up for a lot of PokĆ©mon next month, with sizeable discounts on the 3DS Virtual Console releases of Red, Blue and Yellow; and the PokkĆ©n Tournament DX demo on Switch that dropped today. The Game Boy titles drop 36% percent to Ā£5.75 /Ā ā‚¬6.39 granted you have a Nintendo Account linked, otherwise the discount’s a tad smaller. The PokkĆ©n demo lets you play as Pikachu, Charizard and Empoleon and supports local multiplayer (on a single screen). Although it can only be played 15 times, you can get around this by deleting and redownloading it unlike restricted use 3DS demos.

This week another retail game comes out in the form of Minecraft: Story Mode – The Complete Adventure. ‘Metroidvania’ indie hit forma.8 debuts on switch at Ā£8.99 /Ā ā‚¬9.99 and it’s Wii U counterpart has also dropped to that price. On another Wii U note, Final Soldier (VC PC Engine) and Soldier Blade (VC TurboGrafx-16) have released atĀ Ā£6.29 /Ā ā‚¬6.99 andĀ Ā£5.39 /Ā ā‚¬5.99 respectively.

And finally, Piczle Lines DX releases atĀ Ā£13.99 /Ā ā‚¬14.99 and another member of the ACA NEOGEO range – PUZZLED – comes at the standard price ofĀ Ā£6.29 /Ā ā‚¬6.99. While four sets of DLC for RPG Maker Fes come atĀ Ā£0.89 /Ā ā‚¬0.99 a piece. And in case you forgot, there’s another Testpunch for ARMS starting tomorrow (16:00 GMT) and ending on Sunday (21:00 GMT) so don’t forget to download it if you’re interested!

Other Nintendo Gamescom News from Day One

The other big news of the day was a release date for Fire Emblem Warriors on both Switch and New 3DS: 20th of October. In Europe at least, the Switch version is also available in a Limited Edition Bundle that will include the game, a 3-disc soundtrack collection and character cards.

For PokkƩn enthusiasts, the announcement of the PokkƩn Tournament DX demo being released on the eShop this Thursday was quite exciting. Anyone unfamiliar with the game is also encouraged to try it.

And finally – although technically only speculation at this point – it was strongly implied that Final Fantasy XV will be coming to the Switch at some point. When talking through a translator about Final Fantasy XV “about what other things we have planned in the future“, Hajime Tabate of Square Enix said “there’s a certain other console that sounds a lot like ‘Twitch'” and that “everyone on Final Fantasy XV, they love this specific console that sounds a lot like ‘Twitch’“.

PayPal Comes to Nintendo Switch

It seems making payments on the Nintendo eShop are becoming a little easier. Users have recently reported that an option for PayPal is now appearing when purchasing games on the Nintendo Switch eShop. The option initially rolled out in Japan, but it should also be available in Europe and North America now too!

Not only does this generally make payments easier, but it supposedly also opens up a better option for purchasing games from other regions as PayPal is more flexible with international payments.

What do you think of the new payment option? Tell us in the comments below!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Zelda DLC Announcement Details

Nintendo’s newest Zelda entry The Legend of Zelda: BreathĀ ofĀ the WildĀ is a hit and now we have even more reason to go back and play it or to pick up and start your journey. Out this summer the promised ‘Hard Mode’ will be released that will make the enemies level be upped by one and also have higher maximum levels.Ā They willĀ alsoĀ be able to gain health slowly, Not only that but a new added feature where you will be able to find enemies and chests in the sky.

If new apparel is your thing then look no further Nintendo has you covered. A Korok mask that shakes when you are near one of their locations will help new and old players alike find all 900 seeds. We are also graced with new armour sets based off characters from previous Zelda titles, suchĀ as Tingle and Majora’s mask. Another trial to grind through is coming. A “Trial of the Sword” Challenge will let Link take out enemies to unleash “the true power of the Master Sword” while the Hero’s Path mode will help you keep track of where you have been in the last 200 hours. Think of it like a Sheikah version of a Fitbit Activity Monitor.

Last we are awarded a Medallion, what are you ever talking about you ask? Well it is the Travel Medallion, this momentou will let you the player assign there current location as a place you can instantly travel back to. Additionally, from today, players can download an update that will allow you choose different languages for the voice acting, while keeping the subtitles in your native language.

NintyNews Weekly – 17th July ’15

It’s that time of week again! It’s time to look back over the past week to see what’s been buzzing in the Ninty world. It’s been a pretty ‘interesting’ and quiet week this week. It started off on a rather depressing note, though in the end it turned into something rather beautiful.

Check out the top news of the week after the break!

OPINION – Mr. Fuego’s Nintendo E3 Predictions!

The most exciting time of the gaming calendarĀ is here; it’s E3 Predictions time! I have 12 predictions lined up, and hopefully at least a few will be correct. Wait, who am I kidding? My predictions are 100% accurate! Let’s GOOOOOO…!

New Animal Crossing —Ā Wii U

NB_Banner_Animal_Crossing

I think a new Animal Crossing titleĀ will likely beĀ announced forĀ Wii U. It’ll run at 1080p, 60fps (okay, they probably won’t mention this, but if ANIMAL CROSSING can’t manage itĀ nothing can). Honestly that would be all I’d need to know, but I think to entice more players they just might go a little further. So what’s different from past games? I think it might be expanded online support with big online features.

Star Fox Online Competitive Multiplayer Shown!

NB_Banner_Star_Fox

We all know Nintendo are going to showĀ theĀ new Star Fox game at E3, but I think there will be more than just a single player mode shown. I predict we’ll see an online multiplayer mode too! After all,Ā Tadashi Sugiyama and Takaya Imamura, theĀ producer and director of Steel Diver Sub Wars are producing/directing Star Fox along with Miyamoto — and I have a reliable source on that! WIKIPEDIA! Undeniable!

New Metroid —Ā Wii U and/or 3DS

NB_Banner_Metroid

I thinkĀ a new Metroid titleĀ is very possibleĀ this year. So far Metroid games have been played from either a 2D perspective (most games), or inĀ first-person (Prime games). But that doesn’t mean it’ll always be that way.Ā In 2012 Miyamoto said “the kind of ideas I have on Metroid [are reflected in Metroid Blast].” — a game played from a third-person perspective. Traversal is a major theme in Metroid games, and a third-person perspective would mean the precision and feel of Samus’s movement could be improved. So IĀ think a third-person view is reasonably likely, too. And if that’s right, Platinum are revealing somethingĀ this year…

Zelda Wii U Mentioned

NB_Banner_Zelda

Nintendo may have said Zelda Wii U won’t be in their Digital Event, but I see through their lies. I’m predicting it’ll be mentioned! That’s right, MENTIONED! Hah, I see through your lies Nintendo! Bold Prediction, right? Wait, that doesn’t actually contradict what they said? Oh… Okay, I predict Aonuma will pop up to talk about it… briefly. I’m not exactly expecting much from Zelda, but they can’t just ignore it.

PokĆ©mon Game With Amiibo Support —Ā Wii U and/or 3DS

NB_Banner_Pokemon

PokĆ©mon Amiibo are pretty much useless in anything but Smash Bros., despite being one of Nintendo’s most beloved brands. But they’ve got to be used for something, right? I predict Nintendo will show a new PokĆ©mon game at E3, launching alongside a fully-supported “PokĆ©mon”Ā line of Amiibo.

Something First Party & Exciting — 3DS

NB_Banner_3DS

The 3DS’s 2015 lineup has beenĀ pretty sparse so far. In terms of new first-party retail games there has been… one?! Something exciting’sĀ gotta be announced at E3. I’m just not sure what it could be. I’m expecting and hoping the next main series PokĆ©mon will be announced and released next year, it’s too soon for Zelda, and there’s already been a new IP gamble for 3DS. There has to be something bigĀ here for 3DS fans, and it’ll be excitingĀ to findĀ out what it is.

A Lot More Third-Party & Exciting — 3DS

NB_Banner_3DS_3rd

Monster Hunter. Yokai Watch. The Great Ace Attorney. Bravely Second. Dragon Quest VIII. There are quite a fewĀ third-party 3DS games that have a strong chance of showing up, even if Nintendo don’t have anything exciting themselves. I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of future 3DS titles are Japanese third-party & ported titles. Wii U needsĀ strong first-party support, but 3DS can survive with less, meaning Nintendo can gear up game development for their next system instead.

Xenoblade X Release Date

NB_Banner_Xenoblade_X

Xenoblade X will get a release date. I predict November. I’m excited. That’s it.

GameCube Virtual Console or Remake

NB_Banner_GCN

We’ll either get a GameCube remake, or finally get GameCube games to download, methinks. Something GameCube-ish. Depends on whether it’s possible to getĀ GameCube games to work withĀ the GamePad, really. GAMES. Mario Sunshine is my bet for a remake.

Club Nintendo Replacement/Better Account Features Mentioned

NB_Banner_Account

Existing owners of Wii U and 3DS know how bad the account system is, so this would bizarrely be a really exciting announcement.Ā Making accounts more user-friendly with features like cross-buy and linking-downloads-to-your-account-so-if-your-system-breaks-you-still-have-access-to-them would not go unnoticed by fans. I don’t think they’ll go to deep into their new online system, but I think it will be at least mentioned.

Smash Bros., Splatoon, & Mario Kart 8 Content!

NB_Banner_Ryu

I think we’ll get new DLC Content for Smash, Splatoon and Mario Kart 8. I’m not sure what will come to Splatoon and Kart, but Street Fighter music files were found in Smash 3DS update data back in April, and they’re pretty much confirmed to be real at this point. I predict he’ll be revealed on Sunday’s Smash Bros. Presentation (which was correct! (I wrote this on Friday)). As for returning characters, I think Wolf will be shown at the Digital Event, and Roy might show up alongside Ryu on Sunday. I also thinkĀ new, unseen stages are likely to show up.

Wait, this was already announced today (and caused some server problems in the process)!

New Retro Studios Game, Not Metroid — Wii U

NB_Banner_Retro

Personally I’d like to see Retro tackle something new and let another team work on Metroid, and actually think that’s fairly likely.Ā Either way, I’m certain Retro will show their newest game this year. It could be a new entry in any number of Nintendo series, or even a totally new concept.

So there — those are my predictions for this year’s Nintendo E3 Presentations! You can post yourĀ ownĀ in the comments, if you want. I don’t really mind. Nope, doesn’t bother me.

Mr. Fuego

Nintendo World Championships and more at E3

Yes, I know we are a bit late on this one, but after 25 years (I wasn’t even born back then) Nintendo are bringing back the Nintendo World Championships to coincide with their E3 presence. For the weeks leading up to E3 2015, Nintendo will be holding regional evens in North America for fans to compete to become the Nintendo World Champion 2015 at the Nokia Theatre, LA on the 14th June.

Not only will they have the Nintendo World Championships (which seems to have no love for other countries) but we can also expect to see their Digital Event, Treehouse Live streams and demos of Mario Maker at Best Buy locations.

Check out the entire press release after the break!
