I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Yooka-Laylee Toybox Out Now

Ahoy fellow buzzers! Were you so excited for the upcoming beauty of a game by the ex-Rareware developers behind Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee, you just had to back the Jiggies out of it? If you backed more than £20 during the Kickstarter campaign, you should be ecstatic to learn that the demo is out now! But it isn’t any old beta though. Titled ‘Yooka-Laylee Toybox’, this is a self contained, and spoiler-free sandbox where you can check out how the gameplay works, without the game being spoiled for you.

If you backed a few more pennies (3,500 more pennies to be precise), then you will receive the enhanced Toybox +! This version includes a new area to explore and some critters to swipe your lizardy arms at. You can find your download codes over at your BackerKit account over here!

The Toybox is only available through Steam on PC, Mac, and Linux, so unfortunately any console gamers out there will have to wait a bit longer, though it still may be worth downloading on your computer!

The Return of Game Days!

Those of you who have been on the forums since the beginning of 3DS Buzz may remember a special event we would hold from time to time called 3DS Buzz Game Days. Well, I have some exciting news, Game Days is making a return next week!

For those not in the know, Game Days are organised days where the community plays a bunch of games online together. Anyone is able to participate at any time during the session, and it isn’t anything competitive, it’s just so that we are all able to have a bit of fun without worrying about ranks and whatnot. It’s also perfect for those who are a bit nervous about playing online, I still find it daunting with some titles, especially in games like Super Smash Bros., which I am horrible at against competent opponents.

Find out more after the break!

TOURNEY – Summer Splat-a-thon Supreme 2016

Can you believe it, Summer is nearly over. We still can’t get over The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild from E3, but pretty soon we will have to return to normality, back to school, back to baggy trousers, that sort of thing. Luckily, we have one very last-minute organised trick up our sleeve to end Summer with a bang!

To top off the peak of Summer, we’d thought to host a new Splatoon tournament, the NintyBuzz Summer Splat-a-thon Supreme! We have actually already hosted this tournament before, back on 3DS Buzz Forums, before the big merge, last year. In the end, the member Pepe claimed victory and is chuffed with his Lucina Amiibo to top off his Fire Emblem series.

Check out all the info for this year after the break!

Lobodestroyo is Back in Action!

Usually we would have been on this straight away, but with the merger and E3 clouding our sights, only now have we had time to share this… better late than never though, right?

For those who are not in the know, Lobodestroyo is a game that was funded on Kickstarter around two years ago. The game takes a Mexican stylised approach on bringing back the 3D Collect-a-thon games we all know and love from the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube era, think Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Super Mario Galaxy. They have also taken inspiration from other games such as the boss battles from Mega-Man. Travel forwards two years later, and you would’ve found that the team went radio silent. Did this mean the end of Lobodestroyo as we know it?

I think not! The guys at Lefthanded Games recently published a new backer update, that has been unlocked for the world to see, to explain that they are very much still alive and kicking. They’ve apologised for the lack of updates, saying how there has been a phase of lowered motivations and other commitments getting in the way of development. Though times have been tough, Jamie, the Creative Director on the project is confident that a newly reenergized attitude and dedication will keep development going strong. New additions to the team including Project Manager Scott Malo will help keep the team’s efforts on track and moving forward.

Lefthanded Games has recently published a new website that acts as a hub for updates, as well as other content such as streams, podcasts, and even some editorials by yours truly. They have already made a new character reveal on the website! But enough from me, check out the update in its entirety to find out just what has been been said regarding Lobo’s resurgence!

Backers! It’s been a while
