Nintendo Direct Summary: September 2017

Nintendo crammed new reveals and information for over 40 titles in last night’s Nintendo Direct. Taking the Spotlight segments were Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Project Octopath Traveler and of course, Super Mario Odyssey.

Some of the most notable reveals were from Bethesda as they are bringing DOOM and Wolfenstein II to the Switch with the former in Winter this year and the latter in 2018. On a more peculiar note, Minecraft is coming to the New Nintendo 3DS ‘soon’ but with no word on compatibility with other versions. (more…)

WIN – The Travelling Hylian

UPDATE – It seems I made a mistake while setting this giveaway up as no-one actually had permission to reply to the entry thread. This has now been fixed and I’ve also extended the deadline to the 24th July. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Link has been trekking the huge world of Hyrule for the past couple months, and he has ended up in some fairly interesting locations as of late.

To celebrate the recent release of The Master Trials DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we are giving away one lucky reader a download code for the Expansion Pass Bundle for the Nintendo Switch. This bundle includes access to both The Master Trials (Out Now) and The Champion’s Ballad (Coming Soon) DLC packs.

For you chance to win, just reply to the entry thread thread (click here) where you think Link is at the moment. If you don’t remember the name of the area, just plot a point on the map in the thread with an X (the middle of the X will be your entry), and we will pick someone from random who guessed correctly to win the code!

Please note that although the code only works for European accounts, you are still able to create your own European Switch account for free to redeem the code.

Check out where Link has been for your chance to win after the break!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

REVIEW – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Hyrule has run into ruin, and Zelda has waited 100 years for Link to wake up to serve his destiny, which kind of puts the wait for this game into perspective. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is nearly here. Originally to be released in 2015, this fresh new Zelda title is just about ready to hit store shelves.

Will The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild be worth the long wait, or would your time have been more effective watching paint dry? Find out in our relatively spoiler free review, after the break!

Breath of the Wild – Watch out for those Flowers

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has many, many shrines. Some of these shrines require you to complete a little quest, or trial, before you get to access it. This one character spent a lot of time planting those flowers… would be a shame if someone were to step all over them!

Breath of the Wild to Receive DLC and Season Pass

Nintendo just announced, via a press release, the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be receiving some DLC later in the year. There are currently two packs planned, one in the Summer, and the other in the Winter, which aims to expand the Zelda experience even further.

Nintendo went on to reveal a few bits about each pack. The first pack will include a new challenge called the cave of trials, as well as a new hard mode, and a new map feature. The second pack will include a new story, a new dungeon, and brand new challenges in the world. An ‘expansion pass’ will be released on the 3rd March 2017 (the game’s release) which will also add three new treasure chests in the Great Plateu which includes exclusive items, clothing, and gear. The expansion pass will be released for £17.99/$20.99.

Check out the press release, along with a message from producer Eiji Aonuma, after the break!
