Dark Souls Remastered dated for Nintendo Switch… finally

I may be late to the party, but there is a thing called fashionably late… even if it’s for a party full of remorse and torture. That’s right, Dark Souls Remastered for Nintendo Switch has finally been dated, and it couldn’t launch at a better time, just before Halloween!

Whatever the reason for the delay, fans are sure to be excited to rage through Dark Souls anywhere, anytime, and with anyone on Nintendo Switch from the 19th October. The Solaire of Astora Amiibo will also launch on the same day.

Looking for a cool preorder bonus? Order from the UK Nintendo Store (click here for the listing) and you can expect your copy to come with a metallic plate with the cover art on it… okay, maybe the preorder bonus isn’t that glamorous, but at least we finally have a Switch release date, right? Though most retails have already allocated their Amiibo preorders, you can still get an order in from the Bandai store here.

Head to the Soarin’ 50s in new Fortnite Update

Fortnite is the game that just keeps on giving. The battle royale title has been updated to 5.21, adding two new LTMs and even a new sniper weapon.

The new legendary and epic weapon, the Heavy Sniper, has been added to the growing range of Fortnite weaponry. The heavy sniper takes a while to reload, but surely this should give you enough time to gloat with the devastating blow you just dealt… assuming you are unlike me and actually hit someone with a sniper. The heavy sniper can deal 150/157 damage to someone, which could easily deal a one hit KO to an unsuspecting victim.

The first new LTM (Limited Time Mode for those who are unaware) is actually a revamped version of a recently retired mode, 50 vs 50. This version emphasises on mobility, which has led to the ability to deploy your glider mid-match… assuming you are more than 10m in the air of course. Maybe this will save you from a falling death this time.

The second LTM is the return of the Sniper Shootout mode. For those who do not know, this mode is played entirely using sniper… basically, I would be horrible at it. The only change this time is that the scoped assault rifle has been replaced in favour for the heavy sniper.

As usual, you can find all those juicy patch notes after the break!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC that we need

Recently, Nintendo made a statement that they haven’t finished updating Mario Kart 8 Deluxe quite yet. The company proved that they were dead serious when they dropped the new Breath of the Wild update a couple weeks ago. This got me thinking though, we’ve yet to receive any additional premium content for Deluxe compared to the original Wii U version.

You could say that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already has so much content, so why do we need more. Quite simply put, we’re a greedy bunch, and savour the idea for more content when we’ve already logged 100 or so hours on the title.

So what other ventures could Mario Kart 8 Deluxe make? Find out some of our ideas, after the break!

Nintendo Switch Online Service to launch late September

There’s only a month or so to go before the Nintendo Switch Online Service launches. Though it is a premium service which will enable online play, the service will also include things like cloud saves for compatible titles and NES games with online play, and it will all be available at the low price of £17.99 a year.

Nintendo UK just sent a press release regarding the release. Though no specific date was mentioned, they did offer the more specific timeframe of the second half of September. Here’s hoping we get some form of Nintendo Direct before then for them to really promote the service before its launch.

You can read the full press release after the break!
