Things Get Spooky in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Halloween Update

Autumn, the leaves begins to fall, the weather gets chilly, and the next free Animal Crossing: New Horizons update is just around the corner, this time bringing some ghoulish tricks and treats to your island paradise.

Starting from the 30th September, villagers will be able to purchase pumpkin seeds from Leif year-round (or Nook’s Cranny during October), allowing them to grow the festive squash to use in spooky DIY recipes. Throughout the month, Nook’s Cranny will also be selling candy, the Able Sisters will have Halloween costumes ready to order, and the Town Hall will even have frightening make up to exchange for Nook Miles.

When it comes to the big day on the 31st October after 5pm, your fellow residents will gather round the plaza to partake in the Halloween festivities. A rather mysterious fellow, Jack, will also be visiting to provide special in-game rewards in exchange for the cavity inducing candy… be sure to keep some aside for your neighbours though, they may have some brand new reactions to teach.

In addition to the Halloween goodies, this new update will also introduce a favourites list to the Dream Suite as well as an ability to perform reactions from the NookLink app service.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Wave #02 Announcement

This afternoon, Nintendo unveiled the latest update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons with the second part of the Summer update. In a short video, shared on their official channels, it was revealed that this update would include Firework Shows. These shows, which take place each Sunday during August, will allow villagers to participate in Redd’s raffle and launch custom-design fireworks.

Additionally, a new dream feature was shown, which appears similar in function to the dream suite from Animal Crossing: New Leaf. This will allow the player to access different dream islands, uploaded by others who own the game and even share their own. Not only that, an Island Backup and Restoration feature will also be included as part of this update. This free content will be available for download on the 30th July, with the next update (which appears to be Halloween themed) due sometime in Autumn.

I have been gaming for 30 years, starting mostly with PC Gaming, where I developed a penchant for classic point and click games. Over time I discovered Nintendo, starting with the Game Boy and the Super Mario Land games. Here, my love for Nintendo grew as I discovered many of their other franchises, from Zelda to Pokémon. These days I play a bit of everything but Nintendo and their unique creativity always keeps me coming back for more.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Wave #01 Announcement

Nintendo’s 2020 hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons, yesterday announced the first part of its free Summer update. In a video tweeted by the official Animal Crossing account, the villager can be seen swimming, dunking and diving for sea creatures. This long-awaited addition to the villager’s abilities was discovered by data miners earlier in the year, and it’s great to see it added into the game. Additional updates include the return of Pascal who offers new DIY recipes and some kind of new encounter featuring Gulliver in a piratical outfit. This update will be available from 3rd July with even more content promised to appear in August.

Animal Crossing for NHS

Across the nation, NHS workers are working excruciatingly hard to aid in the relief of COVID-19. During these challenging times, nurses, doctors, social workers, and many more are putting their lives at risk to ensure the safety of the general public.

To show our support, we are asking those who own Animal Crossing New Horizons to send in their custom designs that are inspired by and celebrate all the work the NHS has achieved so far. Not only will these designs be available to view by all our readers, but we will also display a selection of them in an upcoming charity live-stream, where we will be clapping for the NHS in Animal Crossing. You can choose to donate towards our fundraiser, where we hope to raise money for the NHS Charities Together organisation to aid in the current relief efforts, send in a design, or both. We will also be contacting a few of those who donate to take part in the stream.

If you wish to show your support, you can find the form to donate and one to submit a design over at the Animal Crossing for NHS portal by clicking here! Be sure to tell your friends too by using the tag #AC4NHS.

Don’t forget: Stay home. Protect the NHS. Save Lives!

Not got a copy of New Horizons yet? Why not see what it’s all about in our review.

REVIEW – Animal Crossing New Horizons

First, you became a resident of a quaint town, then you became the mayor… now, for the first time ever, you’ll even be able to run your own island! In a world where we are currently unable to go outside unless absolutely necessary, Nintendo comes into the rescue by launching the latest Animal Crossing title for Nintendo Switch: New Horizons.

Departing Memories of Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Only days remain until the departure gate opens for Animal Crossing New Horizons. Not too long until we move away from our lovely towns from our fabulous neighbours. We have many fond memories of turning over a New Leaf on the Nintendo 3DS, so we are taking this opportunity to tell them before our New Horizons induced self isolation.

Check them out after the break!
