REVIEW – Untitled Goose Game

You’ve no doubt heard of the Untitled Goose Game. It’s swept the let’s play nation with its quirky antics and startling premise: controlling an ultra-intelligent goose with a desire to mess with the lives of all people. The humor easily comes across when watching a stream, but how fun is Untitled Goose Game to play for yourself?

I’ve been playing Nintendo games since I was 3 years old, and my earliest memory is watching my dad play Super Mario 64.
Since then, I’ve become as big of a fan as you might imagine: YouTube video projects, fan fiction, owning just about every amiibo — you name it!
I’m also a stalwart defender of underappreciated games like Skyward Sword, Other M, Super Paper Mario, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Zero and more. I love to see passion in a gaming product, and my desire on this site is to share a similar passion in what I write.

REVIEW – 80 Days

In 1872, London, England, a bet was made that one could circumnavigate the globe in a mere 80 days. Such a bold claim for the time, nobody believed it could be done, so the bet was agreed to and Englishman Phileas Fogg set off by train with his French servant, Jean Passepartout, on October 2nd and was to arrive back in London by December 21st. This marks the beginning of the 1873 novel Around the World in Eighty Days, which would follow the adventures of the two men as they successfully travel across the world in the titled eighty days. But this isn’t a review of the novel, instead this is a look at Inkle’s 80 Days, now available on Nintendo Switch, after having been a mobile and PC game beforehand.

Long time fan of Nintendo and games in general, I always lean on the quirkier and unique sides of things in particular. It all started when I was lucky enough to get a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Yellow for my tenth birthday and it’s been going strong ever since. I’ve always had a need to get my voice heard and share anything I find interesting with the world.

REVIEW – The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

Twenty-six years ago, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening was released for the Nintendo GameBoy, and five years later in a colourised release for the GameBoy Color. Now, the adventure has been reimagined for a new audience with a release on Nintendo Switch, displayed in a three-dimensional widescreen view, compared to the original game’s square ratio. The game retains its traditional top-down formula, and is an enhanced remake of the original, including features from Link’s Awakening DX. But how does it compare to those classic GameBoy games?

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

REVIEW – Dragon Quest Builders 2

Just because you have defeated a leader filled with an immense dedication to destruction doesn’t necessarily mean its malice won’t linger. Evil has its way of sticking around, like that stubborn, yet questionable, stain on an old dish rag. Luckily, wherever there is hope, there will always be a potential for the creation of a delightful, new world, even if you have to build it up block by block.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 follows the quest of three unlikely friends to rid the world of its destructive ways, and return the passion of building back to the residents that had it squished from by a horrid cult. Does this RPG building sequel have a sturdy foundation to sit on, or does it crumble more than poorly mixed concrete? Find out in our review, after the break…

…then, morning comes…

REVIEW – VA-11 Hall-A

In the dystopian future of the year 207X, corrupt corporations govern the world, oppressing the populace with nanomachines and a personal armed force known as the White Knights. Law is to be obeyed and nothing seems to be done to correct the wrongdoings forced upon everyone. But this is not the story being told, this is a story of Jill Stingray, bartender at the VA-11 Hall-A bar in downtown Glitch City, and the customers she has to serve. On a daily basis she has to deal with the often petty whims of the clientele, most times humouring them as they spill their life stories one drink at a time. It’s time to mix drinks and change lives.

REVIEW – Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Unlike many other Nintendo fans around me, the popular turn-based strategy series, Fire Emblem, has been one that has escaped me over the years. Due to my inexperience with the franchise, I was hesitant to take on this review. But after watching some trailers and seeing the excitement build within the Nintendo community, I was curious to see what Three Houses had to offer. What follows is a review of Fire Emblem: Three Houses played on classic difficulty.
