REVIEW – Nintendo Switch Sports

The overwhelming success of the Nintendo Sports series has delighted fans since the Wii. Wii Sports was bundled with the popular Nintendo console, and sold approximately 82.9 million copies throughout the generation. Further iterations of the franchise included Wii Sports Resort, and the enhanced remake for Wii U, Wii Sports Club. Quite a few years have passed since those games were released, and now it’s time for a new generation of fans to get off their sofas, get active, and take on a variety of games in Nintendo Switch Sports.

Please note that I wasn’t provided with a leg strap accessory in time for this review, but will add my thoughts if this changes.

REVIEW – Grapple Dog

Looks can often be deceiving. Take the grapefruit for example, it looks like such a refreshing fruit when cut open. It wasn’t until I had the first bitter bite that I came to the realisation that it was the exact opposite and no fruit can ever be trusted again.

Another example is Grapple Dog. At first glance, you may think this game is a relaxing and cute title that will be a relatively easy jaunt. The only true statement is how it’s cute (and I mean really cute), but it’s anything but easy and relaxing. However, the important question to ask here is ‘is it a good game’? Well, you can find that out by reading our review, after the break.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

REVIEW – Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Last month, Pokémon Legends: Arceus was released, and like many other people, I had the opportunity to play the game and experience a different take on the Pokémon formula. Since the phenomenon arrived on the shores of the United Kingdom in 1999, I have been hooked with the Pokémon franchise, and embraced almost everything it has to offer; from collecting trading cards, plush toys and stickers in my youth, to the video game series I continue to enjoy to this day. Last year when I saw the trailer for Pokémon: Legends: Arceus, I was deeply intrigued and excited by the idea of a video game with huge open areas where wild Pokémon roam, and the opportunity to create the first Pokédex for the region. Such a departure from the norm made me compelled to see what this fresh new take was all about.

As a Pokémon fan of over two decades, I hope my thoughts below will help people still on the fence, make an informed decision on whether to buy the game or not. For the purpose of this review, I preferred to play the game on my television, using a Pro Controller.

Nintendo Direct February 2022 Summary

Starting 2022, we knew very little about Nintendo’s lineup, other than a handful of vague release windows. All that changed Wednesday after the first Nintendo Direct of the new year.

The forty-minute presentation covered a wide range of Nintendo Switch games leading up to the end of Summer. We saw a resurfacing of classics, one of which never broke out of Japan, updates to previously launched Switch games, and even a couple new announcements to boot. Check out our Nintendo Direct February 2022 summary after the break.

REVIEW – Big Brain Academy: Brain vs. Brain

Now that we are rolling out of the festive period, it’s time to get back into the swing of things before we get too far into 2022. If, like me, you’ve found yourself doing a good impersonation of a lumpy spud, in both body and mind, you’ll be happy to know there are a few games for Nintendo Switch that may just provide the motivation you need, such as Ring Fit Adventure to tone up your body, or the most recent entry in the Big Brain Academy series to bulk up your brain.

That’s right, Big Brain Academy is back for a third semester with Brain vs. Brain, but is it enough to stimulate that grey matter? Find out in our review, after the break!

REVIEW – Shin Megami Tensei V

Have you ever found yourself in a conundrum where your decisions in games feel too easy, that there aren’t enough actual challenging encounters or ramifications for your actions? Well, maybe the answer has been right in front of you this entire time and you just didn’t realise it. Much like how the world of demons has been ever present in the world of Shin Megami Tensei, a game rife with challenges and ordeals awaits. Only the bravest may dare enter its realm, and only the strongest can survive. Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest in a long line of hardcore RPGs, but does it have the will to live up to series heritage? Or will it perish amongst the many who’ve tried along the way?

Long time fan of Nintendo and games in general, I always lean on the quirkier and unique sides of things in particular. It all started when I was lucky enough to get a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Yellow for my tenth birthday and it’s been going strong ever since. I’ve always had a need to get my voice heard and share anything I find interesting with the world.
