Things Get Spooky in Animal Crossing: New Horizons Halloween Update

Autumn, the leaves begins to fall, the weather gets chilly, and the next free Animal Crossing: New Horizons update is just around the corner, this time bringing some ghoulish tricks and treats to your island paradise.

Starting from the 30th September, villagers will be able to purchase pumpkin seeds from Leif year-round (or Nook’s Cranny during October), allowing them to grow the festive squash to use in spooky DIY recipes. Throughout the month, Nook’s Cranny will also be selling candy, the Able Sisters will have Halloween costumes ready to order, and the Town Hall will even have frightening make up to exchange for Nook Miles.

When it comes to the big day on the 31st October after 5pm, your fellow residents will gather round the plaza to partake in the Halloween festivities. A rather mysterious fellow, Jack, will also be visiting to provide special in-game rewards in exchange for the cavity inducing candy… be sure to keep some aside for your neighbours though, they may have some brand new reactions to teach.

In addition to the Halloween goodies, this new update will also introduce a favourites list to the Dream Suite as well as an ability to perform reactions from the NookLink app service.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Summer Update Wave #01 Announcement

Nintendo’s 2020 hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons, yesterday announced the first part of its free Summer update. In a video tweeted by the official Animal Crossing account, the villager can be seen swimming, dunking and diving for sea creatures. This long-awaited addition to the villager’s abilities was discovered by data miners earlier in the year, and it’s great to see it added into the game. Additional updates include the return of Pascal who offers new DIY recipes and some kind of new encounter featuring Gulliver in a piratical outfit. This update will be available from 3rd July with even more content promised to appear in August.

Haven’t taken the plunge onto New Horizons? Why not see what all the fuss is about in our review!

What are you looking forward to most? Let us know in the comments.

Metroid Prime 4 development restarted

Today, Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer of Nintendo, appeared in a video updating fans on the development of Metroid Prime 4. Unfortunately, the development team have been having difficulties bringing the title up to the same standard as the previous games.

Nintendo have made the difficult decision to completely restart development of the anticipated sequel from the ground up. This time development will receive aid from Kensunke Tanabe, producer/co-producer of the original games, as well as Retro Studios. This does mean that the game will take much longer to release, though seeing how much care is going into the development, I’m sure it will be worth the wait!

Nintendo Switch Online Service to launch late September

There’s only a month or so to go before the Nintendo Switch Online Service launches. Though it is a premium service which will enable online play, the service will also include things like cloud saves for compatible titles and NES games with online play, and it will all be available at the low price of £17.99 a year.

Nintendo UK just sent a press release regarding the release. Though no specific date was mentioned, they did offer the more specific timeframe of the second half of September. Here’s hoping we get some form of Nintendo Direct before then for them to really promote the service before its launch.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct Summary (08/08/18)

Wow, that Nintendo Direct was exhausting, but in the you just exercised feel good for yourself kind of way. Sakurai talked about enough to keep people excited, but left enough secrets to keep us wanting more, he even left a very big reveal for the end which fans have been wanting for a while.

If you have been living under a rock the past week, or if, like Sam, you only had a five minute break at college, don’t you worry, I have written a rather spiffing summary for your convenience. If you aren’t the reading type, then I’ve conveniently embedded the recording below just for you. Even though it will not get me an extra click, I still think it is a very generous trade-off for reader satisfaction!

…but you do get subtitles MWAHAHAHAHA!

Now, for you linguists out there,  our written summary of the event can be found right after the break!
