Reap The Power Of The Twili in New Hyrule Warriors Character Trailer!

Will Hyrule Warriors ever cease to tantalise one’s eagerness to get a hold of this game? I think not as Tecmo-Koei have just released yet another character trailer for Hyrule Warriors. This time the focus is on Midna as she rages her way through the hordes of baddies.

Her size may be small, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that she can’t kick some bad guy butt. She can either use her freaky hairdo to thrash her opponents, transform into horrific beasts, thanks to the fused shadow, to ram through Moblins, or she can summon many wolves, like myself [furry joke], to do all the dirty work for her. If those powers seem too OP, then she can just use her trusty steed, that being Link’s wolf form, to fight and carry her to victory!

More Kick-Ass Women in New Hyrule Warriors Commercial

Last week, we shared some wonderful new screenshots from The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Warriors, which showed off two newly announced playable characters. One character in particular, Lana, had us head scratching as we have never seen her before the reveal. Who is she? What role does she play in the game? Well, today we will cease this head scratching (it’s bad for our hair anyway) as Tecmo-Koei have uploaded a brand new trailer which purely focuses on the magical Lana.

It seems Lana is no stranger to some good hacking and slashing in Hyrule Warriors as she take on hoards of Moblins. She is able to summon magical barriers which prove to hold many uses. She can wall jump on them to create an electrical trail, she can move them magically to crus enemies and more. It also seems she has some power over electricity, or what I assume is electricity.

Aonuma’s Mission is to “Create a Game Without a Story”

If you loved Skyward Sword’s epic tale of the beginnings of Link and Ganon’s amniosity, then beware – Legend of Zelda series director Eiji Aonuma is a man on a mission… to create a game without a story.

OK, so you don’t need to worry too much – he doesn’t want it to have no story as such. Speaking with MTV, he described his goal for the plotline of a game to be 100% user driven:

What I really, really want to create, what my ultimate hope or goal is, to create a game without a story – not to say that the story is nonexistent, but it’s a story that isn’t already created. It’s a story that the player, in interacting with the space or environment, creates. So, a story that is defined by the player, not one that is already prepared, and a game that just kind of follows that path, if that makes sense.

As someone who has just in the past hour seen the credits roll on the epic tale of Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, I can’t say the idea particularly speaks to me. Mind you, if he can truly pull it off and create the same kind of emotion that a well written tale does, that would be quite something to behold. What do you think – should the tale a game tells be different to all that play it?
