Nintendo: Riskier Than Ever With IP

Sometimes, in the late 2010s, it’s surreal to see what Nintendo has been up to. A handheld-console hybrid seemed like a daring new venture the innovative company would come up with sooner or later. Ambitious titles like Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild felt right, and those games mirror other major leaps forward in titles like the original Legend of Zelda on the NES and Super Mario 64.

But what none of us probably saw coming is just exactly how risky Nintendo would play it by licensing out its most prominent intellectual properties to Ubisoft and Brace Yourself Games.

I’ve been playing Nintendo games since I was 3 years old, and my earliest memory is watching my dad play Super Mario 64.
Since then, I’ve become as big of a fan as you might imagine: YouTube video projects, fan fiction, owning just about every amiibo — you name it!
I’m also a stalwart defender of underappreciated games like Skyward Sword, Other M, Super Paper Mario, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Zero and more. I love to see passion in a gaming product, and my desire on this site is to share a similar passion in what I write.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC that we need

Recently, Nintendo made a statement that they haven’t finished updating Mario Kart 8 Deluxe quite yet. The company proved that they were dead serious when they dropped the new Breath of the Wild update a couple weeks ago. This got me thinking though, we’ve yet to receive any additional premium content for Deluxe compared to the original Wii U version.

You could say that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe already has so much content, so why do we need more. Quite simply put, we’re a greedy bunch, and savour the idea for more content when we’ve already logged 100 or so hours on the title.

So what other ventures could Mario Kart 8 Deluxe make? Find out some of our ideas, after the break!

Postcards from Bubblaine – Super Mario Odyssey

Mario has been working his cap off in preparation for his newest adventure on the Nintendo Switch in Super Mario Odyssey, but even heroes deserve a break from time to time. Mario decided to go on a little holiday to celebrate his work so far, and what’s a better holiday destination than Bubblaine Beach of the Seaside Kingdom.

Feeling a bit envious? Love a good holiday pic? Then you’re in luck, Mario was kind enough to send NintyBuzz some postcards on his little holiday at the Seaside Kingdom. Check them out after the break!

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle Season Pass Announced

As another day of Gamescom gets underway, Nintendo show no sign of slowing down, with demonstrations of Lola Pop from ARMS, a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament and gameplay of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. In fact, they even had new information to share about the unique crossover title coming to the Nintendo Switch – in the form of a Season Pass.

Now, granted that a lot of the time, the idea of DLC really causes friction in the gaming community, but this one features enough content to warrant your attention.

Check out the details after the break!

Five Nintendo Crossovers We Need on Switch

Nintendo has been on something of a crossover campaign as of late. From pure Nintendo efforts like Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam to the more adventurous third party titles like Tokyo Mirage Sessions # FE, Hyrule Warriors, Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, Fire Emblem Warriors and now Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Nintendo is becoming more and more liberal with its IP. So in celebration of this month’s release of the aforementioned Mario and Rabbids crossover (which, incidentally, looks surprisingly brilliant) we got thinking – can we come up with any more ideas for potentially great Nintendo crossovers?

So here’s what we got – check out our five new crossover ideas we want to see on Switch after the break, and be sure to let us know your ideas down in the comments!
