Satoru Shibata Retiring as Nintendo of Europe President

Kimishima isn’t the only one stepping down from their role at Nintendo shortly. Satoru Shibata, President of Nintendo of Europe, will also be retiring from his role. It is currently unknown who will be taking over his role.

It isn’t all doom and gloom however, though he will be stepping down as the president of NoE, he will be stepping up as director, giving him a more executive role for the company. With a bit of luck, maybe we will still see him make appearances at events and receive public messages from him, which has always been a delight.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Prepare for a Competitive Filled Easter Weekend

It’s nearly Easter time, but this year, there will be a little more competition than your usual Easter egg hunt. This weekend there are two fantastic events that are being held by Nintendo to get you into the competitive spirit.

Starting from Friday, 30th March 2018, Nintendo will be hosting the Splatoon European Championships over at the Polymanga event in Switzerland. Professional squid squads from around Europe will be battling it out in the semi-finals to really put their tenta-skills to the test in the finals on Saturday, 31st March. The team who succeeds in the finals will then be invited to compete in the Splatoon 2 World Championship at E3!

That’s not all, Pearl and Marina will make an electronic appearance to perform in the Off the Hook concert, accompanied by a live band! Can’t afford the air fair all the way to Switzerland, let alone a ticket for the event? Never fear, Nintendo will be streaming all the action live on their Twitch and YouTube channels.

Want to get in on some competitive action of your own? Whether your an ARMS veteran who have yet to delve into the ring (remember, it’s still 33% off in the spring sale), why not download the ARMS Global Test Punch? Starting Saturday, 31st March 2018 until Monday 2nd April, Nintendo will be holding another special demo event for ARMS. So whether you want a taste of the stretchy action, or want some fresh competition, feel free to give it a whirl… or would that be punch?

Looking like it will be a competitive Easter after all!

New Nintendo 3DS to Retail for £156?

Earlier, we reported that Club Nintendo members in Europe have been receiving an offer to purchase and own the New Nintendo 3DS before the official European release date. The listing on the Nintendo Store which the email links to includes an overview of what the bundle consists of… along with their value.

As you can see, the value they have given for the New 3DS console is £155.99, so could this mean that the system will retail for that amount of money upon release? In my opinion, I think that price is quite reasonable, only £6 more expensive than how much the original 3DS retails for on the Nintendo Store. We are also given an insight on how much the Cover Plates may retail for. Apparently, they will be going for about £8 per set.

Unfortunately, I can’t confirm these prices 100% yet, but what do you think? How much would you pay for a New Nintendo 3DS? Tell us in the comments below!

Club Nintendo Europe Offering Ambassador Edition New 3DS for Selected Members

UPDATE 2 – I just found the Term and Conditions page of the promo which states that delivery will be completed until the 23rd January 2015 which contradicts my earlier update… SORRY! [haha]

UPDATE – I rung Nintendo’s Customer Service today to enquire about delivery times and they stated that they do not know when the consoles will go out to Ambassador participants and the 3 to 5 days delivery is a placeholder so it is possible the 28th January 2015 is false information.

Nintendo of Europe seem to be starting off 2015 with a bang. This morning, selected members of Club Nintendo Europe have received an email offering them a chance to purchase the New 3DS in white earlier than anyone else in Europe. Not only will they be able to purchase it early, but they will also receive special Ambassador Cover Plates [which won’t be available anywhere else], a charging cradle and a set of Super Smash Bros. Cover Plates.

If you have received this email and are considering about purchasing it, it will cost you about £179.99/€199.99 with free delivery [some countries will charge a bit extra for delivery] and it will be apparently be delivered by the 23rd January 2015. If you can’t quite decide, you will need to make sure you do by Monday 12th January 2015 at 23:59 [UK Time] as that is when the promotion ends.

Check out the email after the break!
