The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

It’s nearly that time of year once again, when tiny ghosts and ghouls roams the streets to fill up on treats. This is also the time of year to celebrate those who we have lost in Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), so we thought we might share with you all some pieces of music to set this mood.

Be prepared for NintyBeats Dia De Los Muertos Edition after the break!

Our first pick comes from this amazing Mexican inspired soundtrack from Guacamelee! Delve into the depths of Forest del Chivo with this atmospheric tune. Empty echoes play throughout, possibly from those who settle in the World of the Dead.

True, the Monkey Island games were only once on a Nintendo console with it’s episodic title, Tales from Monkey Island, but with Monkey Island being one of my favourite franchises, I just had to include it. Though this has a more Caribbean Voodoo tone, there is just something so eerie and mysterious to the tune, we still find it suitable for this weeks theme. Feel free to browse the strange amenities and other doohickies at the International House of Mojo, they have a sale going, get two heads for one!

Rayman Legend’s soundtrack is full of variety, and with this tune, it feels like you are actually wandering a spooky desert land… or would that be dessert land. Either way, the heat will eventually get to you and you may say to yourself ‘What the duck?’

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
