The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

The three pieces in this week’s trio of Ninty tunes are especially iconic — so much so that they have all have been revisited in more games than one (the last one is especially persistent). What could they possibly be? Read on, and you will DISCOVER…

Remember how great it was when all your friends and family could all get together and play the same game? Even the total idiots? And do you remember soon after, when everyone realised the games and touted controls were as shallow as a paddling pool and stopped playing? Well this was your redemption. I’m happy for you.

This piece is probably more iconic as a Super Smash Bros. tune, but its origin is on the NES in one of the least popular Zeldas. It’s a perfect piece to represent Zelda, too; it has a sense of mystery and drama that fits the series nicely.

After the reveal of Dragon Quest XI last week, we end on the famous Dragon Quest theme. This is the overture from the last main series entry released on these shores, Dragon Quest IX! Go forth and have adventures, dear readers — we’ll see you again next week!

So that wraps up another week’s NintyBeats! I hope you enjoyed the choices this time.

If you would like to have a certain piece featured next week, please post it in the comments!
