First, you had a variety of colours and designs, then you could create folders, and now you can install some awesome themes. But have you ever felt slightly intimidated by the fact that you just can’t choose what theme to display on your system? Well, now this problem is solved with the latest 3DS system update which introduces the new 3DS Theme Shuffle feature.

Find out more about the update after the break!

It does exactly what it says on the tin, choose from ten of your favourite themes and your 3DS will display a random theme when you come back from Sleep Mode or when you power the system on. It’s quite a neat feature in my opinion. When I first heard about it, I thought it would cause the system to have a delay when coming from sleep mode, but the system comes back on instantly after opening it. I’ve also noticed that the 3DS has to be in Sleep Mode for about 4 seconds before the new theme can appear.

To top it all off, the update also comes with some stability updates and the changelog mentions that you can now take screenshots of the upper and lower screens and that you can download software updates straight from the Home Menu… though I could’ve sworn those features were introduced in a previous update!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
