NintyNews Weekly – 10th July ’15

Greetings Nintendites of the world (and possibly beyond). I come to you today with a brand new weekly (hopefully) feature which aims to bring back Nintendo News to NintyBuzz, as well as some easy activity from myself! NintyNews Weekly aims to bring you wonderful lot some of the biggest Nintendo news from the past week or so to try and keep everyone, including myself, updated on everything Ninty. If there has been a big break in another gaming department other than Nintendo, than you may as well see it here… in fact, we have something that has deemed a little controversy in this week’s edition.

So, let us get things started… after the break!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

REVIEW – Splatoon

The weather is getting hot (finally) and school’s breaking up (hopefully). Summer is coming and it is the perfect time for riding some gnarly waves, delicious BBQs, staying fresh, swimming in ink, and, most importantly, battling in turf wars! Splatoon was released exclusively for the Wii U only a few weeks ago, and I was able to spend some time with it, being both a squid and a kid.

Find out whether Splatoon is as fresh as the Krak-on Splat Roller or unfresh like the Octolings… after the break!

Splatoon Direct Announcements

Wasn’t that a short and sweet direct… well maybe not so sweet, those Inkling’s look very mischievous! Though the majority of the Direct was basically recapping information which we have heard before, there were still some very interesting information announced too.

Check out what they were after the break!

Splat Direct! Splatoon Nintendo Direct Next Thursday

Update – Apologies, the reported date is a Thursday, NOT a Friday.

We don’t usually cover news, but when we do, it’s got to be exciting, and here we are! We may have had a Nintendo Direct at the beginning of the month (not including the Xenoblade Mini-Direct last week), but it seems they think that we already deserve another direct, this time focusing on Splatoon, next Thursday (7th May 2015)

You can expect it to air in various regions as follows:

North America – 10am EST

UK – 3pm BST

Europe – 4pm CEST

Australia/New Zealand – Midnight AEST

Japan – 11pm

No news yet how long this Direct will be, it could just be another mini-Direct, but we’ll be sure to have a discussion about the event soon after.

Splatoon will be released on the 29th May 2015 in Europe and North America.

Summer Splat-athon Supreme (Splatoon Tournament)

Good evening Inklings of the world! Do you have an intense thirst for competition? Do you want to paint the town red (or green, or yellow, or blue, or purple)? Then be sure to apply to compete in the Summer Splat-athon Supreme over at 3DS Buzz. Starting June, competitors will battle it out on Splatoon to see who can claim the most territory and claim ultimate victory!

The tournament will be hosted by me, and if I can sort out the money, there may also be prizes to be won too. Even if there isn’t, it is still a good way to get even more fun out of Splatoon.

Click here to find out more!

Splatoon will be released on the 29th May 2015 in Europe and North America.

Splatoon of News – Splatoon News Catch-Up!

A couple weeks ago, during Nintendo Direct, Nintendo showed off a brand new trailer for Splatoon, which releases next year for Wii U. The showcased the amazing single player mode… unfortunately, I forgot to cover it. Luckily, however, Nintendo have been constantly releasing more and more news about the title, giving us a chance to do another news blowout article like we did for Super Smash Bros. last month!

Check out what has been announced after the break!

Nintendo Outlines Wii U and 3DS Release Schedule For 2014

Every so often, Nintendo likes to give us a blowout of release dates, and it just so happens that we’ve got a new one.

Most dates are merely reitterations of those we heard about at E3, but there are a number of exciting games heading our way in the next few months – notably Fantasy Life, Smash Bros and Pokemon for 3DS alongside Bayonetta and Hyrule Warriors for Wii U. At the end of August, America will also at long last get their hands on the superb rollercoaster of emotion that is Layton vs Wright.

Splatoon, Zelda U, Star Fox, Xenoblade X, and Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. have all been confirmed for 2015, which should ensure that the games will keep on coming well into next year.

Check out the full schedule below!

There are several other interesting points to mention. Firstly, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker seems to have been delayed to Q1 2015 in Europe, though it still aims for a Holiday 2014 release in Japan and the US. Also, if you remember way back to 2013, you would have remembered a game called Brain Age: Concentration Training getting its release in Japan and the US, though the release date seemed to have disappeared for European territories. It now looks like the game hasn’t been completely forgotten by Nintendo of Europe as they have listed it but with an unknown release. This raises the question of what caused the game to be delayed by over two years in Europe? Perhaps that’s one of the training exercises.

That’s not all, Nintendo have also released a schedule with all the 3rd Party titles which are coming soon for 3DS and Wii U, though these do not have release dates listed.

It’s quite a big image so click it to see it in full!
