Other Nintendo Gamescom News from Day One

The other big news of the day was a release date for Fire Emblem Warriors on both Switch and New 3DS: 20th of October. In Europe at least, the Switch version is also available in a Limited Edition Bundle that will include the game, a 3-disc soundtrack collection and character cards.

For Pokkén enthusiasts, the announcement of the Pokkén Tournament DX demo being released on the eShop this Thursday was quite exciting. Anyone unfamiliar with the game is also encouraged to try it.

And finally – although technically only speculation at this point – it was strongly implied that Final Fantasy XV will be coming to the Switch at some point. When talking through a translator about Final Fantasy XV “about what other things we have planned in the future“, Hajime Tabate of Square Enix said “there’s a certain other console that sounds a lot like ‘Twitch'” and that “everyone on Final Fantasy XV, they love this specific console that sounds a lot like ‘Twitch’“.

SNES News from Gamescom

Nintendo dropped two pieces of unexpected news today which will be very exciting for retro enthusiasts.

Firstly, the SNES Mini (with varying names) will come with an option for borders around gameplay, something unavailable on its NES counterpart. Another feature unique to the SNES Mini is the ability to rewind gameplay – up to a few minutes for RPGs and only forty seconds for Action games. They also released a snazzy retro-esque trailer:

Nintendo also announced the previously Japan-exclusive SNES themed New 3DS XL is heading to Europe on the 13th October 2017, alongside some additions to the Nintendo Selects range. Super Mario 3D Land, Luigi’s Mansion 2 and Kirby: Triple Deluxe will all get Select versions retailing at £15.99 each. Although there isn’t word of any of this coming to America yet.

Check out the nifty new box art after the break!

RUMOUR – New 3DS To be Released Mid-February?

With the Nintendo Direct airing later tomorrow, it has been predicted that we may hear an announcement on when the New Nintendo 3DS will be released in Europe and the US. It turns out this date may have just been leaked.

According to Megauap from NeoGAF, the above is a promotional poster for the New Nintendo 3DS stating that it will be released on the 13th February in the US. It seems that the poster could be legitimate with the Nintendo Direct tomorrow, meaning that, if it is true, retailers may start putting up posters like these directly after the stream. It is also interesting to note that the poster includes the box art for Majora’s Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Is it possible that these two titles will also be released on the 13th February? Only time will tell!

What do you think of the poster? Tell us in the comments below!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

REVIEW – New Nintendo 3DS

In 2011, Nintendo introduced the first glasses-free 3D handheld console with the Nintendo 3DS. A year later, in 2012, Nintendo released the XL counterpart promising larger screens. This was followed by a 3D-less budget model another year later, in 2013, with the 2DS. Now, Nintendo are starting to introduce the newest member of the 3DS family, though this time it isn’t just the aesthetics that have been changed, the whole system has received a hefty update!

We were lucky enough to get our hands on the New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition, which has been offered to select Club Nintendo members within Europe. Today, we will be reviewing the console, giving you a lowdown on what we think. Hopefully this should aid you in the decision of whether or not to upgrade [or to dip into the 3DS pool if you haven’t already]

Without further ado, check out our full review after the break!

New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition Unboxing

As some of you may know, Club Nintendo of Europe recently sent out emails to selected member, offering the a chance to be the first people to purchase and own the New Nintendo 3DS in Europe with a special set of commemorative cover plates.

I was lucky enough to receive an email and have decided to show you lovely readers what it looks like in the flesh. I’ve also uploaded several images of this beastie after the break and will upload some comparison videos and a review at a later date! Enjoy! [Apologies for sounding exhausted in the video, just had a Biology exam and a six hour Biology lecture]

New Nintendo 3DS to Retail for £156?

Earlier, we reported that Club Nintendo members in Europe have been receiving an offer to purchase and own the New Nintendo 3DS before the official European release date. The listing on the Nintendo Store which the email links to includes an overview of what the bundle consists of… along with their value.

Screen Shot 2015-01-06 at 12.16.21

As you can see, the value they have given for the New 3DS console is £155.99, so could this mean that the system will retail for that amount of money upon release? In my opinion, I think that price is quite reasonable, only £6 more expensive than how much the original 3DS retails for on the Nintendo Store. We are also given an insight on how much the Cover Plates may retail for. Apparently, they will be going for about £8 per set.

Unfortunately, I can’t confirm these prices 100% yet, but what do you think? How much would you pay for a New Nintendo 3DS? Tell us in the comments below!
