Yooka-Laylee – Release Date, Nintendo Switch, and More!

One of the most anticipated games of next year, for those who are fans of the good old 3D Collect-a-thons, is quickly approaching its release. Playtonic have finally announced the release date for Yooka-Laylee. Those who have pledged, pre-ordered, or who are considering purchasing the title, can expect its debut for PC, Mac, XBOX One, and PS4 on the 11th April 2017.

You may have noticed that the Nintendo Wii U was omitted from the above list. Unfortunately, due to ‘technical issues’ that have arisen, Yooka-Laylee has been cancelled for Wii U. Apparently, these issues have been present for several months, but Playtonic was unable to find a workaround. Though this may come to a disappointment to many fans, Playtonic also announced that Yooka-Laylee will instead come out on the Nintendo Switch at a later date, so it isn’t all doom and gloom.

Along with these release date announcements, Playtonic have also released two new trailers for Yooka-Laylee. One shows off a brand new world called Capital Cashino. The second video goes more in-depth with the first world of the game, Tribalstack Tropics. Be sure to check them out after the break!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Weekend NintyBeats – Kickstarted Platforming Goodness

The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

With Yooka-Laylee shaping up pretty nicely (as you can see from the most recent trailer), it reminds me of other Kickstarters I have backed which are also in the Banjo-Kazooie spirit. So this week’s NintyBeats will focus on just that. Be prepared to be blown away by tracks from Yooka-Laylee and two other Kickstarted platformers, plus an exclusive (almost) reveal… after the break!
