Top Ten Mario Locations

Mario, pretty much everyone knows him; his games span nearly 35 years after all. During all that time, he’s been on plenty of adventures in some pretty weird and wonderful locales. Today, we bring you the first of our Top Ten series. I’ll be going through some of my favourite locations found in Mario games, in no particular order of course.

Check out our globetrotting list after the break!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!

Darren’s Animal Crossing Memory Walk

I first heard about the Animal Crossing franchise from the original Nintendo Official Magazine (NOM) in the UK, which was advertising the GameCube Animal Crossing title. The series didn’t initially interest me, and it wasn’t until a friend of mine showed me his American copy of Animal Crossing: Wild World on his DS Lite, that my attention for the series piqued. There was just something appealing about the idea of a chilled and relaxed game, where you collect fish and bugs and play with friends in person and online. At the time, the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection was still quite new, and I loved the idea of playing with friends across the world.

Metroid 30th Anniversary – A Retrospect

30 years ago today, Samus Aran set off on her first adventure on the NES, where she explores the depths of Zebes to stop the Space Pirates from exploiting Metroid lifeforms for their own devious agenda. Since then, she has been an influential game character due to the representation of her gender. She is independent, strong, and a badass bounty hunter who has even wiped out entire species and destroyed planets!

To celebrate 30 years of the series, I produced this little retrospect video which showcases some of her best moments over three decade run of the series. Let’s hope it doesn’t end there and there are many more years to come. Enjoy!

Shout out your favourite Metroid moments in the comments below! (Please make comments via the article thread on the forum as we are experiencing some technical difficulties regarding commenting)

Weekend NintyBeats — EVERYTHING

The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

After an unplanned month off due to accidental computer destruction, Mr. Fuego has to catch up on five weeks of NintyBeats in one edition. Realising he cannot write blurbs for all 15 due to incurable laziness, he instead resorts to single-word descriptions…
