My, my, my, what an unfortunate couple weeks it has been. First the Baudelaires have been chased down by an untalented fiend, a narcissistic Tango Orange addict is running the United States, and I may have quite possibly failed my Geography exam. But let us move on from the tragic, and onto the triumphant. Yes, it is finally time to announce the results of the NintyBuzz Awards 2016!

The community has voted, and the results are in. Find out which games have won NintyBuzz Awards… after the break!

Most Beautiful Game 2016

This game looks so amazing, it’s winning the same award for the second year running. Releasing towards the very end of 2015, this game pushed the Wii U to it’s max with beautiful SciFi environments in…

Xenoblade Chronicles X for Wii U

Most Unique Game 2016

There are two games that stood out as the most unique Nintendo games over the past 18. The first finally makes Mario Party fully suitable for all your on-the-go, portable needs. The second game is a Pokémon game that truly focuses entirely on combat, with some fairly strategic gameplay. This award goes to…

Mario Party Star Rush for 3DS and Pokkén Tournament for Wii U

Best Mario Game 2016

Though Mario hasn’t had many outings this year, that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy. The best Mario game of 2016, as voted for by the community, may be paper thin, yet it has obviously made a huge impact on fans in…

Paper Mario: Color Splash for Wii U

Most Anticipated Game 2016

Though a very confusing category title, the award goes to the most anticipated game that is releasing in 2017 and beyond. This game is really looking like every Zelda fan’s wet dream (myself included)! Link can finally explore a huge open world with very few limits, you can even go straight to the final boss from the beginning… if you were insane enough. This Zelda game is, of course…

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for Wii U and Nintendo Switch

Best Soundtrack

Gaming isn’t all about playing a game, well for the most part it is, but that’s beyond the point. A big part of the game comes down to the soundtrack, it really helps to immerse you inside a game. The community has voted one of the most recent Fire Emblem entries to earn this very award. The Best Soundtrack of 2016 goes to…

Fire Emblem Fates for 3DS

Best Story 2016

Games are also about telling a good story, and it is clear that there have been plenty of Nintendo games with good stories this year, as we have yet another double award! The first game is a Mario game that is definitely more exciting than a paper cut (and obviously brings out my pun game), and the second game brings us to the Alola region to discover a range of new Pokémon. This award goes to…

Paper Mario: Color Splash for Wii U and Pokémon Sun and Moon for 3DS

Most Surprising Reveal

What’s more exciting than the reveal of a new Nintendo game? The reveal of a new Nintendo games console of course! In November, Nintendo finally unveiled the mystery behind NX, the codename of the console before the reveal. The new console boasts the ability to bring any home console game released for the console on the go, along witch a recognisable ‘click’. Of course, the award to the Most Surprising Reveal, goes to…

The Nintendo Switch

Most Controversial Announcement or Release 2016

There’s always a handful of games which stir up a bit of controversy, but even bad press can be good press… right? This particular game originally had many fans of Megaman excited seeing how it is essentially a spiritual successor. This excitement was soon short-lived due to many delays (one of which was announced on the initial launch day), insulting fans from the marketing, vast graphical downgrades further along development, immature community management, and broken DLC codes (which allegedly bricked some Wii U consoles). But hey, at least it’s better than nothing, right? This apparent controversial mess is, of course…

Mighty No. 9 for Wii U, 3DS PS4, Xbox One, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, PSP, PC, and Mac

We have just reached the half point and, after this short break, we will be going onto the most important awards, the Game of the Year awards! We will also be announcing who has won the Nintendo eShop credit as part of our giveaway during the nomination phase.

In the mean time, check out this beautiful trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for no apparent reason, then feel free to click ‘Next Page‘.

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
