The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

With Summer finally approaching and nights getting warmer, this week’s music would be the perfect match for looking up at the starry night sky, pondering your life choices, that sort of thing. Let us begin your relaxation… after the break!

Space Junk Galaxy ~ Super Mario Galaxy ~ Wii (2008)

The Super Mario Games have a stellar soundtrack, and this one fits perfectly for this week’s theme. It’s a relaxing piece full of curiosity, it’s certainly anything but trash! Imagine looking up at the stars, what do you see? What trials and tribulations are being lived out there? Can you hear anyone scream? Is that an Italian plumber?

Solo Menu ~ Kid Icarus: Uprising ~ 3DS (2013)

From a game full of fast paced action, it is bizarre to hear a song full of solace and restfulness. This is the music you hear before you go all out, bows blazing, calm before the storm. To me, it sounds almost like this is the end of a festival of the night, looking back on your nocturnal celebration. Come, lay under the stars, wind yourself down, and reminisce of a night gone by.

Heaven’s Prayer (Observatory) ~ Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies ~ Nintendo DS (2009)

It’s time to sleep oh young one, this song from a game I have never played (or know anything about for that matter… I know, shame on me), it’s feels less lighthearted than the above though still envelops you in a eerie sense of calmness. It’s almost as if you are being told and old story of legends as you lay softly, falling asleep. What will you dream of tonight, and what awaits for tomorrow? Only time will tell.

That’s it for another week of NintyBeats, hopefully you will have a restful sleep, or maybe this will be your next stargazing soundtrack. As always, sound out your musical suggestions in the comments below, and I’ll see you next week with another selection of Nintendo music!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
