The music of Nintendo games make them truly remarkable and memorable. To show our love of the music, every Friday we share a selection of tracks from various Nintendo titles, new and old.

Another three pieces of Nintendo’s best music, for another three two-and-a-third days! This week we have music from three series that are either missing, dead, or dead-to-me…

Nintendo is known for its various characterful series, and F-Zero is one of the most distinctive. This piece from F-Zero X to me showcases the series’ unique attitude best; I hope a new entry could capture the unique ambience (and weirdness) of F-Zero.

A new Mario Tennis game came out last week, but at this point Camelot’s Mario Sports games have lost their soul. Motoi Sakuraba has composed the series’ music since the beginning, but has nothing to work with any more. Compare that to this piece, from the very beginning.

F-Zero hasn’t been seen in over a decade, and some people are worried about Metroid joining that club. Sure, Federation Force is coming, but it doesn’t seem to have any of the characteristic atmosphere of Metroid, which has been present since Metroid on NES. The music has always been a vital part of that.

So that wraps up another week’s NintyBeats! I hope you enjoyed the choices this time.

If you would like to have a certain piece featured next week, please post it in the comments!
