Darkness ~ Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective ~ Nintendo DS (2010)

Cap com did an amazing job with this title, I thought it was very unique… with a very awesome soundtrack. This track tends to play when things start to heat up or become scary. It does a great job of keeping the player on edge… what will happen next? None will know…

Thanks for the suggestion, KART!

Lavender Town ~ Pokémon Blue/Red ~ GameBoy (1996/98)

Though I myself never really got into the Pokémon games [please direct all death threats to the appropriate email address], this is definitely not a track to take lightly. Not only is is famous for various ghost sightings in the Kanto region, but it also has a very unsettling piece of music to match. It sounds almost like someone… or something is watching you, stalking you, and waiting for a moment most opportune. Not only that, but Lavender town is also a host to various creepypastas on the online Pokémon community… some are even to creepy to mention here!

Thank you for the spooky suggestion, Red (from 3DS Buzz)!

Big Boo’s Haunt ~ Super Mario 64 ~ N64 (1996)

Super Mario 64 is yet another Mario game that is cheerful and lighthearted through the majority of it. However, once you defeat Bowser for the first time, a timid ghost lures Mario to Peach’s courtyard… which is the gate to the land of the Boos! This tune clearly signifies that Big Boo’s Haunt is set in a haunted house… if you didn’t realise form the title, of course. This house is home to a mighty big Boo, who will challenge you if you are able to find him. The house also is the host to various other entities, such as giant eyeballs who will give you an evil glare, a hungry piano with sharp teeth, and even a haunted merry-go-round way down in the basement!

Final Hours ~ The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask ~ N64 (2000)

Majora’s Mask is full of death and chaos. Influential characters have been killed, the dead are corrupt, and there’s even a moon that will destroy the land of Termina in three days. Once the clock strikes midnight after the third day, this is the music that plays. It performs very well to signify death, destruction, and hopelessness. You know the world as you know it is about to be obliterated, so be sure to spend these last hours with your friends and family… if only there were a way to turn back the clock. True, this song isn’t the scariest, but it is still rather creepy and foreboding!

Thanks for the suggestion Chris!

Unfortunately that is all the time we have for today, and it’s also time to put the dead back to rest as it is nearing the end of Halloween. We hope you enjoyed our selection of music, if there are any others which you think we missed, feel free to post them in the comments below.

Now, have a safe and happy Halloween!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
