Nintendo of Japan are starting the spooky traditions of Halloween with a couple spine chilling themes to use on the home screen of the Nintendo 3DS.

Find out what they are with details after the break!

The first one we have, is based off the Legend of Zelda series, particularly the original instalment. Dynamic images are displayed on both screens with a slightly remixed Dungeon theme from the first game playing in the background. There are various spooky themed sprites present from the same game like Stalfos, Keese and Gibdos. One cute feature is how it looks like Link is walking in the Graveyard as you scroll through the menu.

The next one is based off the Animal Crossing games. The top screen displays a static pumpkin image whereas the bottom is slightly dynamic, there iss a pumpkin head with a trick or treat sign that walks across the screen. There is also a very Animal Crossingy(?) song playing in the background.

Finally, we have this very cute theme called Black Cat. A cute black cat is displayed over both screens and as you scroll, the cat’s eyes start to move. There is also a very Halloweeny tune playing in the background.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there is no word on whether or not the themes will be available outside Japan, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see something similar soon.

What’s your favourite Halloween Home Theme? Is there anything else you would like to see? Tell us in the comments!

I am a huge Nintendo fan, hence why NintyBuzz exists. I especially love all things Zelda and Metroid. NintyBuzz was started by me back in the Summer of 2014, it started out mainly as a hobby, though the site has gradually grown, and I hope it grows for many years to come!
